K1 is approaching the end of kindergarten. One of the things they do is measure your kid’s reading level halfway through the year and again at the end. The jury is still out on what K1’s is, because the teacher only had the tests to get halfway through third grade. All we know today is that it’s above early third grade, we’ll know more later. Not that we would have expected anything less from our kid, considering everyone in our families have always been voracious readers, but it’s nice to know!
Oh, and lest you think I’m playing favorites, K2 is also smart. He can sound out words at the age of 3, and contradicted me yesterday with the sentence, “No, Mommy, I was contradicting myself, not you.” Yes, they’re brilliant. Yes, I’m bragging. Yes, this is my blog and I will brag if I want to!
